What is FORM....really? We might imagine that we see or make a form, and then we think about it and by doing that become conscious of what it reminds us of - what memories and concepts we associate with it. This is the way that forms - or shapes - have meaning for us. Or they can acquire meaning for us.

Is this true? Maybe not. Maybe the really important way we experience form is not by a thought process at all. Maybe it is more visceral and has more personal impact on us than thought alone.

Might we be able, almost literally, to "feel" form with our eyes? Maybe understanding it is an immediate process, related to our sense of touch, making us consider whether "concept" is as important as we think it is.

During the two day conference, speakers from very diverse creative professions, in whose work Form is central, will discuss what that word really means to them.
