North Lands Creative Glass
DAN KLEIN MEMORIAL FUND| Dan Klein was a founder of North Lands Creative Glass and was largely responsible for North Lands' development as one of Europe's principal centres of excellence in glass making. Since Dan unexpectedly passed away at the end of June last year, numerous artists have said that they would be delighted to donate a piece of their work for sale, the proceeds from which to go to the Dan Klein Memorial Fund which has been set up to honour his memory and to further his much loved project, North Lands Creative Glass. Each artist has selected a special piece of work when they know of an exhibition that they are to participate in and once the work has been sold, donate their part of the selling price to the Fund. Some of the galleries have also agreed to donate their commision to the fund. The following is information on the works of art for sale. This will be updated regularly as more pieces are donated in aid of the fund. | ![]() |

Roberta Ayles 400mm diameter. Fused glass with ceramic fibre relief | Roberta Ayles has agreed to donate the proceeds from 'World on a Plate' which is in the Devon Guild of Craftsmen Summer Exhibition at Bovey Tracey from 3 July to 5 September. Price: £160 The idea of 'being given the world on a plate' started this piece - we have taken our planet for granted. I also wanted to see if a circular landscape could work - there are elements of the old flat earth maps (made by people who knew less about the world than we do?). |
