North Lands Creative Glass - Studio

THE ALASTAIR PILKINGTON STUDIO

The new Alastair Pilkington Studio was opened in July 2002 by H.R.H. The Prince Charles and is available for hire. The well equipped state-of-the-art studio has a hotshop, a kiln room, a sand-blasting room, air powered grinding tools, a lamp-working station which can be adapted to suit specific needs and a cold working and finishing shop. The storeroom is suitable for sand-cast or other preparatory work. There is a fully equipped kitchen, which also serves as a conference or lecture room. Facilities are designed to be user friendly for people with limited mobility. A small walled garden is ideal for al fresco activities or installations. An impressive collection of glass donated by students, resident artists and masters is exhibited in the entrance lobby.
